Summary

A new WalletHub poll reveals that 74% of Americans believe Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs will worsen inflation, which remains a major concern for most households.

Trump’s plan includes significant tariffs—up to 60% on Chinese goods and 20% on other imports—to protect American jobs and address issues like fentanyl production and border security.

Experts warn these tariffs could increase consumer prices, with middle-income families potentially losing $2,500 annually.

Analysts caution Trump’s plans may face political hurdles in Congress despite his economic-focused campaign promises.

Bad news? It's only bad news if he gives as shit, and clearly he does not.

Can't wait for worker shortages to cause supply line issues. I really hope the US feels this one.

So ashamed to be an American right now, but yet I might not be one starting January. So eh.

Eat dicks fuckers.

TLDR: this news paper found that less than 150 Americans out of the only 200 that were asked in a non-specified state think his tariffs will worsen inflation. This is bad news for Trump because he cares about what those 150 people think for some reason

This country deserves the absolute worst. Burn it all down.

Yep. Fuck everyone that bothered to vote against the fascists. Fuck everyone in a blue spot in red states that voted against the other idiots around them.

Or - maybe we realize that people should actually bother to vote even if they have to vote for a candidate that doesn't align 100% with their values.

At this point anyone still writing articles with the unstated premise that Americans are paying enough attention and in possession of enough information to have their voting choices influenced by actual policy proposals and their real-world effects should be stuffed into sacks and hit with sticks.

He’ll probably only care when he actually crashes the economy and everyone turns on him. It’s only a matter of time. I give it 1.5 years from Inauguration Day.

"could" increase consumer prices? Really? Still not sure whether they will actually increase, if tarriffs are implemented?

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Dumbasses asked for this.

Another facet of Trump's America: A million news stories about polls showing the majority of Americans hate Trumpian policies, officials, candidates, etc.

And none of them will matter. First, because these are polls and not elections. And second, because simple majorities alone are not sufficient to influence policy in America anymore.

It will be chaos, at our expense (of course) and the American people will learn nothing.
