Remember when whether something was “unconstitutional” was relevant?

Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!
Rules:
- Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.
Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
That's all the rules!

yep. trump controls all three braches of government. who is going to do something about it?
Not yet. His cult only controls the House for a while yet.
If they wanted to and were willing to treat it as the emergency it is rather than insist on constitutional norms, the Biden administration and the Senate could get a LOT of things done before the fascists take the rest of the government and destroys everything good while boosting everything bad.
Fascist kakistocracy is months away and, other than a few press releases, they act like it's business as usual.
But now they have the President, Congress, and SCOTUS on their side, so I highly doubt anything will be done about this.
Kentucky tried to do something similar via a constitutional amendment this election cycle, but the voters soundly rejected it — in one of the most conservative (and religious) states in the country.
Nobody wants this, except for the conservative policy makers attempting to create the next generation of brainwashed youth.

Turns out it's a very successful strategy: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna179019
It absolutely is, which is why MAGA lawmakers are gonna keep pushing it relentlessly.
Same with Colorado. And they tried 2 years ago and the years before that as well.
I stopped caring about the opinions of the people of Ohio when they went on the news for months talking about how the Hatian immigrants were a welcome part of the community and revived local business, then turned around and voted by 2:1 in favor of throwing them all out because they eat dogs.
You forgot they are eating the cats too.
I told them that was going to be a bridge too far.
Christians know that getting young kids to believe (brainwashing) is the only way they survive. They really are the 'let's shove it down your throat' people. Religion is just a bunch of made up stories, and bad ones at that.
Right wing "Christians" aren't concerned with the stories or messaging in their own religion; they don't even read the Bible.
They join specific churches because they find common ground with others who are eager to share in their hate. Naturally, an empty suit, fake Strongman, actual conman like Trump can easily convert them to his cult, as the Church has already primed them psychologically.
Zero Federal funds should go to any religious institution. Zero.
And all churches (of every kind) should be taxed. It's a business.

Yes, finally the public will have a say as to what gets taught in these private schools. We can ban all their books.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Doesn't matter. Our school funding model was found unconstitutional in 1997 and still has never been fixed.
