Some particularly passionate fans had camped out in Manhattan overnight—in some cases, for multiple nights—in advance of the Sunday event, but were caught short after realizing there were no toilets available.

“We’re peeing in bags and little cups, and we had to put up a little portable privacy shower so people didn’t have to look at each other when they did that,” one such camper told the New York Post, having arrived for the rally on Friday morning.

While many turned to makeshift bathroom set-ups, others decided to simply avoid liquids so as not to fall victim to the call of nature.

The Post also spoke to one single parent who’d arrived at Madison Square Garden early Sunday morning with her 7-year-old daughter—who she described as a keen Trump fan.

“You just can’t drink any fluids. We got here a little after 6 a.m.... so we’re going to tough it out and not drink or eat anything. It’s kind of insane that there’s no provision at all for people who are going to be waiting this long,” the woman said.

It's kind of insane that there's people waiting this long

Maybe I'm ignorant because I can't imagine waiting that long in line to see anyone, but why would there be provisions for people waiting? Is that normal?

If you want to go wait for something wouldn't you be responsible enough to bring everything you need, to include ways to hygiene if required?

Some of the longer lines in Disney World have bathrooms along the line.

[–] vxx@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

I wouldn't expect any water or food but toilets.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 110 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Oh please, nobody forced them to pee in bottles. They could have left.

They chose to pee in bottles.

While complaining that NYC is just littered with piss bottles

[–] crozilla@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

They didn’t “choose to,” they “got to!” What an honor! 🙄

I’m sure those nasty little MAGATs left their piss bottles and trash everywhere. Also, the parents of that seven year old girl should be reported to CPS.

It's not unknown for piss to be thrown up in the air at a music gig, right? I've just done a quick websearch which indicates that people affirm that this does happen.

What the fuck? Not the ones I go to.

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Only at the cool ones.

The actions of the band "The Piss Goblins" are a statistical anomaly that should not be counted.

a true fan would be wearing a nappy like their idol do

[–] andrew_bidlaw@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 month ago

One, without changes, for days.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 43 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

In a line of compassionate people, the one behind would recognize the commitment of having showed up days early, and would be willing to save one's place long enough for a pee.

In a line of trustworthy people, the promise "I'll bring you back a bagel" would be a transaction worth saving a place for.

These people are neither.

"Forced"

I do not think this word means what you think it does.

Let the idiots pee in their cups and dehydrate themselves to watch the racists.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 29 points 1 month ago (1 children)

How can you get to this point and not realize you may be making a mistake?

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

One can only reasonably assume you mean attending the rally regardless of the conditions.

[–] Dkarma@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

No they meant supporting trump for the past 8 years

a microcosm of what the next presidency with this fuck would look like, and they just don't see it, they never see it.

[–] pozzy77@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

They just turned around and sold it as patriot maga beer, maga filtered

[–] andrew_bidlaw@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

They are so proud to take last places in the line for a literal toilet of a rally and disturbed at a thought that some blacks, latinos, liberals, leftists don't want that to be the case for everyone not born rich or of a right color. They are the most adoring fans and they are segregated out to wait like everyone else. Just like they wait for anything positive to happen in their county to no result.
