I followed the link to ShitSocial so you didn't have to:

I wanted to testify on Monday, despite the fact that I already testified successfully, answering all questions having to do with the Fake, No Victims, No Jury lawsuit, thrown at me by the Corrupt Racist A.G., Letitia James, and presided over by a Trump hating judge who suffers from a massive case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and is a puppet for the CROOKED A.G. Anyway, the Judge, Arthur Engoron, put a GAG ORDER on me, even when I testify, totally taking away my constitutional right to defend myself. We are appealing, but how would you like to be a witness and not be allowed free snd honest speech. THE TRIAL IS RIGGED. I DID NOTHING WRONG!!!

[–] grabyourmotherskeys@lemmy.world 120 points 11 months ago (6 children)

I can't believe the US voted this complete idiot in as president. Just wow.

[–] ME5SENGER_24@lemm.ee 57 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Every time I flew back into the country and saw his stupid picture in the airport it made me cringe and say “oh fuck, that’s right, somehow Biff Tannen, from Back To The Future 2, is our President”

[–] dirkgentle@lemmy.ca 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

You have the president's face in airports?

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 12 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I assume they meant on TVs or something; I was a bit confused, too.

[–] ME5SENGER_24@lemm.ee 18 points 11 months ago

Nope, not on TV. In JFK there was a picture of his stupid orange face and his shit eating grin up on the wall.

[–] Benj1B@sh.itjust.works 8 points 11 months ago

We truly live in the stupidest timeline.

[–] Nougat@kbin.social 37 points 11 months ago (2 children)

And they're on track to do it again.

[–] skeezix@lemmy.world 34 points 11 months ago

70 million brain dead Fox manure fed Americans will vote the pustulating bloated shit bag back into office.

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago
[–] nocturne213@lemm.ee 24 points 11 months ago (1 children)

To be fair, he lost the popular vote twice. It was only because of the electoral college he won. The people of the USA did not, as a majority, vote for him. The people who are supposed to represent our votes voted for him.

[–] grabyourmotherskeys@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Yes, that's true and a big reason I don't paint a Americans with the same brush (in addition to this being generally intellectually lazy).

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 18 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I live in New York City. Donnie was desperate to get famous since the 1980s. Back in the day, Wife #1, Ivana, was the star of the show and Donnie was the guy who carried her bags. He did everything to get his name in the local news every day, and was considered a joke by just about everyone. He lost his home town by 90% of the vote.

[–] grabyourmotherskeys@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Growing up, I knew of him as a desperate for attention blowhard as well. You didn't need to be from NYC to know that but it says a lot when you guys did that (no votes) because you know him best.

[–] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

There's an old political term in the USA. 'Favorite son candidate.' It means that anyone, of any Party, can usually count on winning their home district. As an example, Republicans in Georgia voted for Jimmy Carter. Also, New Yorkers are a contentious lot who seldom agree 90% on anything.

He's the embodiment of the American stereotype if you ask me. It makes complete sense.

And they are lining up to do it again. It's absolutely baffling to me but at least it's gotten a lot easier to identify idiots from a distance.

[–] ThunderWhiskers@lemmy.world 46 points 11 months ago

This reads like a Chinese Amazon listing where they just fire off dozens of loosely related words and key phrases to increase traffic.

[–] oocdc2@kbin.social 40 points 11 months ago

Thank you for your sacrifice.

[–] Telorand@reddthat.com 23 points 11 months ago
  • Fake - I'm pretty sure it's quite real.
  • No Victims - "Your honor, I didn't successfully rob the bank, so there were no victims!"
  • No Jury - Bro, you opted not to have a jury trial.
  • Gag order...taking away my right to defend myself - Your defense of the facts requires that you attack the judge and his staff?
  • I did nothing wrong! - That's for a court to decide. Also, you broke your golden rule: never do yourself what you can order someone else to do. Mob Boss 101.

Thank you for your sacrifice, btw.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 21 points 11 months ago (1 children)

This is seriously unhinged.

[–] ladicius@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

This was already stated by the first word of the title of this post.

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

He is such a moron...

You know what? I can believe his lawyers didn't want him to go on the stand because he would violate the gag order, and his brain filtered it to "the gag order is keeping me from going on the stand."

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 33 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (4 children)

Exactly as I keep saying. His NPD won't allow him to lose. His brain has to cast about for reasons. The shit he spouts is zero surprise to me. How else would such a brain frame all this?

I'm exhausted talking about it. But I doubt many people have had a true narcissist in their life. People with tendencies? Sure, we have all met those folks. But not a weapons-grade, DSM-5 diagnosed, narcissist like Trump.

LOL, people can't decide if he's an idiot or playing games. He's neither. He's a narcissist.

(Although I'd argue his dementia is becoming more and more clear by the day. BUT, much of that is fear, frustration and desperation.)

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

LOL, people can’t decide if he’s an idiot or playing games. He’s neither. He’s a narcissist.

No. He's definitely an idiot too.

[–] youngGoku@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

He came to the school thinking he already knew everything

Yup pretty much par for the course

[–] Hazzia@discuss.tchncs.de 9 points 11 months ago

Absolutely true. It really is hard to watch people try to rationalize and justify Trump's behavior when you're already familiar with that brand of person. Even in the early days of the 2016 election, it was just flaberghasting to see how people would spin the shit he did and said because it was all so familiar to me, so I just thought they were stupid. There is nothing deeper. There is no "grand plan." He's just saying (and, to some extent, believing) whatever shit he thinks will make him appear "superior" or "infallible" in the moment.

[–] Iunnrais@lemm.ee 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Narcissism is a spectrum. At the one end, you have people with low self esteem who look to getting reactions from others to feel better about themselves. At the other end, you have people with full on disassociation, that is, a lack of any sense of “self” at all, except from the reactions they get from others. It’s pretty clear Trump is pretty close to the pathological dissociative side of the spectrum.

The reactions narcissists get from others is called “supply”, and each narcissist looks for a specific flavor of supply that fills the void in their life, whether that’s a mild feeling of inadequacy or full fledged lack of self. Some supply is being loved. Some supply is being seen as a villain. Some supply is just being the center of attention. For Trump? It’s pretty clear that his supply is being seen as “successful”.

Narcissistic supply is an addictive drug to narcissists. It gives an instant high— a high of feeling “normal”— and also has instant lows. The moment supply is cut off, the narcissist’s mental dismay returns. Supply also has a problem of levels. A bigger dose of supply feels great, but it ALSO makes any additional supply that isn’t as strong as that one time feel like nothing.

Narcissists are junkies. They need their hit of supply, and will do literally anything to get it. And to get it as big as they’ve ever had it before.

While president, Trump got the biggest hit of supply the world has ever seen. Losing the presidency has lost him that supply… even the attention the news still gives him today isn’t anything like the supply of having the eyes of the entire world on him all the time.

As a junkie, he will do anything to get supply back. He would literally kill to do so. It might yet come to that.

This point really needs to be driven home constantly. Donald Trumps personality disorders are in control of every aspect of his life. He is incapable of self control.

[–] PugJesus@kbin.social 43 points 11 months ago (2 children)

And all of his supporters will gobble it up, feasting at the bullshit buffet with smiles on their shit-smeared mouths.

[–] SuckMyWang@lemmy.world 14 points 11 months ago (3 children)

Reality doesn’t matter. Everyone still gets a vote.

[–] Tavarin@lemmy.ca 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

And some people's vote for president is worth more than others.

Anyone with half a brain cell knew the moment it was announced Sunday that he would no longer be testifying that he'd be on Truth Social claiming he wanted to testify by Tuesday. He's as predictable as he is orange.

[–] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 23 points 11 months ago

dementia is a bitch

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 21 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Admitting he can't testify under oath without attacking people he's blocked from attacking?

[–] MisterD@lemmy.ca 12 points 11 months ago

It's the court's staffs fault he was manipulating the value of his properties

Apparently my current VPN server is blocked from truth social. I am totally ok with this.

[–] ZeroCool@feddit.ch 8 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Same. How will we ever get by without access to Trump's shitty non-federated mastodon server full of white supremacists?!

[–] mateomaui@reddthat.com 6 points 11 months ago

If only we could permanently trap and isolate them in there.

[–] theodewere@kbin.social 12 points 11 months ago

he also really, really wanted to go serve in Vietnam

Who is his strategist? Alex Jones? 🤣

I'd love to see the judge call his bluff. "Oh, Mr. Trump, I see you posted to social media that you wanted to testify. I'm sure the prosecution is prepared to question you, so you can take the stand right now, unless your council objects."

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago

He probably got a gag order from his lawyers so he does not open his mouth while standing nose-deep in the shit.

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 8 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Gotta say, didn’t see this move. Can't say it's a good one though...

[–] treefrog@lemm.ee 7 points 11 months ago

Sadly I kinda did see this and wasn't surprised at all to read this headline.

If he can use to play the victim, he will.
