Israel conducted an unprecedented airstrike on Beirut’s southern Dahiya district on Friday evening in what Israeli media described as an attempt to assassinate Hezbollah’s Secretary General, Hasan Nasrallah.

The strike targeted and leveled six residential buildings. The Israeli army’s spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, released a video statement shortly after the strike claiming that the buildings contained Hezbollah’s “Central Headquarters.” Lebanese media reported that over 10 Israeli missiles were dropped in less than three minutes on the complex, situated in the Haret Hreik area in Dahiya. The Israeli army’s radio said that Israeli F-35 fighter jets dropped 2000-pound bunker-buster bombs on the residential buildings.

Lebanese first responders continue rescue efforts to pull out survivors from under the rubble. As of the time of writing, the number of civilians killed has not been specified.

The Israeli army’s radio quoted a military source saying that any person who was present in the targeted buildings “will not come out alive.” The Lebanese Health Minister, Firas al-Abyad, said that some of the buildings targeted were “full of civilian residents.”

This really needs a “/s”. It’s vitally important to not leave open an antisemitic interpretation to Poe’s Law.

I'm so fucking sick of this shit.

You can compare this to Russia or Nazis or whoever the fuck you want. They don't give a good God damn about it. By they I mean Israel, the US and every fucking Western country that enabled these barbaric fucking murderers to do these massacres.

How much mistreatment and how much torque and how many dead Arabs does it fucking take before this becomes a fucking Holocaust?

Instead of commenting on some fringe social media that the masses or your government representatives won't ever read, call your government representatives and let them know that it's about fucking time to start imposing sanctions against Israel and to hold their leaders accountable for severe war crimes and crimes against humanity and genocide. Stop sending weapons, ammo and armored vehicles. Put out fucking arrest warrants and arrest anybody that was involved from the smallest foot soldier to the very president of Israel as soon as they set foot in their country.

Demand this shit or threaten with a god damn nationwide riot.

I just feel so depressed over this. I feel stupid because I'm some random American in a safe state and it's nowhere near the fear and terror Israel's victims feel on a daily basis. But shits looking really grim for the Resistance.... Israel really is a sick, rotten genocidal society and no one can stand up because they have overwhelming military power. If the world was a just place, Israel would have been invaded by a coalition force and dismantled back in November

I would be if an IDF soldier could livestream themselves dismembering a baby on live television nothing would happen. Nothing. They can do whatever the fuck they want. IDF serial rapists are celebrated in their media, they basically have a Dirlewanger Brigadee running around Gaza and it's ALL DOCUMENTED. Entire neighborhoods that used to have the sounds of children playing and families bonding together are completely flattened.

Meanwhile my country's military looks on at the slaughter from offshore as a threat to anyone who might step in to stop this. Like a bully's dad cheering on his son beating up another kid.

Hezbollah confirmed Nasrallah was killed in this attack. Rest in peace.

If you oppose massacres and genocide, get involved in work to oppose the "Israeli" project. BDS campaigns (like tabling for them, not just doing a boycott yourself) are a good way to get started. Just as important is to educate yourself on Palestine and Zionism, particularly its very recent European roots and the parallels it has with other settler colonial projects (the USA's genocide of indigenous Americans, South Africa, etc) and other apartheid states (South Africa, etc). Most of what you are taught about "Israel" is a lie or a misleading equivocation to avoid the elephant in the room, of occupation, of stealing land and homes and orchards, of checkpoints and a two-tiered system, of torture and indiscriminate bombing, and of a cynical and, itself, antisemitic weaponization of claims of antisemitism.

Finally, confront the role your state plays and therefore what role you can play against its support for Israel. If you are American, this means being unfriendly towards both Biden and Harris, both of whom are supporting all of this. Ask yourself what will actually constitute consequences for their genocide. Ask yourself what it means to work against them rather than "reluctantly" supporting them.

If not now, when?
