Original Title: Nuclear blast could save Earth from large asteroid - US physicists show how immense pulse of radiation could vaporise the side of asteroid and nudge it off course, in a new paper in Nature Physics. The strategy should work for asteroids up to 2.5 miles wide but that is not a hard upper limit.
