What's the best way to watch live TV on jellyfin?

I've been trying to set it up, but I'm struggling a bit.. Too many different options and services (nextpvr, tv headed, enigma2, EPG, HDhomerun etc)

Whats the most reliable way to watch TV on jellyfin?

I've tried searching reddit Google and YouTube etc, but nothing worth while came up..

Also don't mind paying for a service provider if you have good recommendations

Main use case US&Europe channels

Thanks for the help!

If you have an antenna get an hdhomerun. If you're paying for cable you should stop and pay for IPTV instead. You can just add the m3u from your provider in the livetv config

Here's some free IPTV https://github.com/iptv-org/iptv

Most of the free to air satellite is already streamed somewhere and that's much less hassle. If you want paid sattelite find some good premium IPTV.

I have tried my m3u IPTV on jellyfin and it sucks, just use TiviMate for android or VLC on PC

I have a HD Homerun Prime, cable card from my provider, and use a container that scrapes an open channel guide to get program information. If you are looking to do real dvr functionality you may opt to pay for programming information. Setup works well for me, they stopped selling the prime, but you can probably find them on eBay. Their OTA tuner works the same I suspect.

Dreamplayer on Android and Android TV is pretty cool for TVH servers, albeit they want you to pay for each app and have a rather appropriate username

But as others have said LiveTV on Jellyfin sucks and can be used instead with VLC and other apps / resources.
