That's nice. Now work on making single player work offline.

Never. They can't force you to see other players hyper overpriced cosmetics every time you login if you're offline. Same reason you always login to town where there's other people and not your base.

they downvoted them because they told them the truth

also another big reason is cheating, drops are serverside so people can't just cheat currency / equipment and flex with it online, people showing off is a big motivator for the poe community I feel

dunno how it is now but PoE was unplayable when played from an HDD for a long time, you couldnt load into oriath without crashing because the amount of MTX would crash spaghetticode arpg, and they didn't allow to load into hideout even back then

Can they work on making the game compatible with my brain as well? I really wanted to like POE but it bounced so hard off of me when someone told me there's a difference between "more" and "increased" when it came to item stats.

Trying to figure out basic things like "Will this do more damage than this?" was like trying to learn Sanskrit.

1 + 1 = 2 _ increase of 1
2 + 1 = 3 _ increase of 1
3 × 3 = 9 _ 3 times more

You need both modifiers to reach the max potential because 3 times 1 is only three, but by have two increase by 1 you end up with 9!

That is how the increased and more work.

The crazy part is when you do X fire damage which critical hits for y% more damage with z increased damage and a multipled damage. Also you have b % more burning damage and increased burning damage and ailment % increased damage and so forth. ;)

In many games with too much gear I just use the same gear and sell all pickups until I start dying, then I upgrade. Repeat as necessary.

It's not too hard if you follow a build guide. Somebody who's done the math will tell you how to spec and gear your character.

If I had more time, I'd love to be one of those über nerds, but adulting, y'know?

PoE is definitely a complicated game (probably too complicated for its own good) but there are some community programs that are almost necessary to play. Path of Building (the community fork) is essentially a required tool if you want to actually make anything resembling a build. I started playing in 3.21(I think, whenever crucible league was) and have more than 1000 hours of play time. A lot of that was spent in my hideout looking at PoB. And I think I'm just now getting a moderate understanding of the game.

Also the easiest way to understand some of the mechanics like heist, Jun, or any other mechanics you don't like is to simply not. I just ignore heist and Jun stuff completely.

Of course if you want a simpler game Last Epoch is really good as well and I'm excited to see what they do with it in the future. Also, it might be an unpopular opinion but I think Diablo 4 is in a pretty good place right now. I definitely don't get the longevity out of this season like I do with PoE but I did enjoy it.
