It'll be fun to watch him try to get his revenge from Riker's.

[–] anticolonialist@lemmy.world 43 points 5 months ago (1 children)

As much as I hate the MF Im confident he will never serve time.

[–] The2500@kbin.social 12 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, being embarrassed is pretty much the best we can hope for, if he even registers that.

[–] anticolonialist@lemmy.world 10 points 5 months ago (1 children)

He wont see it as an embarrassment. His ego tells him all press, good or bad still keeps him name in the headlines.

[–] Facebones@reddthat.com 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Exactly. I expect he's banking on losing the election, cause then he'd bring in infinitely more money but without all the hassle of pretending to do a job.

Or at Least sees it as a win/win.

I think that actually was his strategy in 2016 but things spiraled out of his own control.

Mob bosses have had people killed from Rikers and other prisons for a hundred years.

“A second Trump term means chaos, ripping away Americans’ freedoms and fomenting political violence – and the American people will reject it this November,” he said.

It’s like a love letter to ozma.😉 Enjoying the chaos of today?

[–] kromem@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago (1 children)

People can be upset about two things at once.

No one is a monolith.

[–] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago

I’m just messing around. Ozma said they love chaos the other day, and I suggested that is the reason they believe Trump will win in November. I respect Ozma’s honesty about their position, even if I don’t agree with their prediction. Biden’s quote was just too perfect to pass up.

Biden camp should be doing more than fear mongering their base

That's cool, but this should be on blast on every social media, youtube add, billboard, radio, newspaper, etc. But I have not seen ONE add for the Biden campaign yet

[–] ShepherdPie@midwest.social 1 points 5 months ago

Biden scraps Trump’s paint scheme for Air Force One

When their list contains stuff like this, you know they're grasping at straws.

If a felon can still become the leader of a country, then that country is broken.

[–] jaxxed@lemmy.world 12 points 5 months ago

That idea leads to Authoritarians getting charges put on their opponents.

[–] andrewta@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

It's been that way since... The beginning of the country

[–] TheLadyAugust@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago

An unremorseful felon* (Not to split hairs)

I completely disagree.

The fact that he's a fellon does not even make the completely saturated list of reasons Trump should never be president again.

[–] jwt@programming.dev 2 points 5 months ago

I think the USA is plenty flawed, but on this one I'd have to agree with them. Would be way to easy to disqualify your opponent (especially as an incumbent president) otherwise. You should be able to let voters disqualify your opponent on merit.

[–] squirrelwithnut@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

How is it legal for a convicted felon to run for president? I feel like it shouldn't be.

[–] VindictiveJudge@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

If it's illegal, then the ruling party starts throwing everything at their political opponents until something sticks, even if that was smoking pot once in college.
