just finished FF7 Rebirth a few days ago and really loved it; I think it's probably gonna be my personal GOTY. Now I'm working on Stellar Blade and eventually I should have some time to finish Dragon's Dogma 2, right? ...Right???

As for the question I stopped playing Helldivers 2 because I got kinda bored with it. It's a good game but eventually you get burned out. I might pick it back up when they release some more stuff to do.

Bloodstained recieved its last patch. What a letdown of a game.

I've decided it's time to restart my Destiny addiction. I redownloaded 1 and 2 and I'll be making a new character this time.

Finished Outlast 2 and Alien: Isolation, all achievements, it was literally insane.

I might play something to chill out next lol.

Favorite genres: horror(mostly indie), sci-fi/action adventure and crime.

Played Recently:

Animal Well. It's fine, I am not really a metroidvania guy though. Foundry. Also fine. It's a factory game in the vein of Satisfactory, though with a procedurally generated world instead of a static one. Has potential, needs a lot more time before it really stands out from the competition.

Genres:

RPGs and factory/automation/base-building games for the most part.

Live Service Games:

I periodically have phases where I get pretty into Warframe, and now is one of those times. It's a pretty good "podcast game" to do other stuff during, I generally really like a lot of the art design and lore of that universe. As far as a live-service game it has a relatively decent business model, basically everything is available in-game, though they will happily take all the money you have if you so choose.

I used to play Dead by Daylight because I love horror, but I am so fantastically bad at that game that I ended up dropping it.

I have recently played Team Fortress 2 with someone from school whose name I won't mention for anonimity reasons. I have also recently played modded Skyrim Special Edition. I'm not sure whether Tf2 counts as live-service or not, bc it hasn't had a major update in 6 years. I also plan on buying Helldivers 2

Reverse Collapse: Codename Bakery is fun yet challenging especially in its stealth maps and puzzle maps. Since I played for the story I went for casual difficulty which presents a fair challenge in achieving the best rank possible (S-rank) while encouraging the player to use their items and overcome specific problems (such as a certain enemy's one-hit kill skill) with it. Higher difficulties present their dilemmas less in the form of increased enemy statistics but rather in the mass of enemies encountered, their positioning, and being obstacles that prevent easy achievement of the S-rank completion. That said there are definitely items that get used way more either due to being useful precursors (fragmentation grenades) or being too good in comparison (rocket launcher, cruise missiles, and painkillers/healing grenades).

Its story is gripping starting from the well worn war story trope of surviving an ambush to one that incorporates timeline hopping pretty well. And while the vast bulk of the story is presented in visual novel format, there are both well animated cutscenes that utilize the game's engine to express kinetic scenes and more mundane game engine actions that are combined with text boxes to express movement and actions that would be hard to do using purely game mechanics.

Setting-wise, it takes place in the near far future in a post-post-apocalyptic earth where alien space radiation leaking into the environment due to an explosive accident created the conditions for WW3 through extensive environmental damage while also turning any survivors (both humans and in another game, Girls Frontline 2 Exilum, animals too) into silicified zombies capable of tearing apart mechs and tanks. Human civilization survived and adapted to the point of eventually being able to decontaminate the environment and provide treatment for people infected by the alien space radiation (though expensive). The protagonist's faction, the Antarctic Union (AU), survived WW3 through isolationism and reverse-engineering alien technology that allows "for the discorporation and reconstruction of matter at will, and even the transmission of matter over long distances", collapse and reverse collapse. The antagonist faction, the Union of Rossartist Nation Coalition (URNC), lacks this technological capability and as a result the URNC has resorted to extreme measures to close this gap during the war with the AU due to suffering extreme losses despite a massive industrial and automation discrepancy in their favor. The events of the story takes place in the Caucasus where the protagonist faction seeks to extract an individual whose biological makeup allows her to safely activate the alien artifact sites that contains the secrets to reverse engineer this alien technology.

What video games have you played recently?

Been getting into the souls games. Currently playing through demon's souls on my PS3. Having much more fun than I thought I would

What are your favorite video game genres?

RPG's but I usually hate turn based combat. As I'm getting older they're creeping up on me tho.

Are there any live-service games, such as Fallout 76, that you're currently playing? Anything like Helldivers 2 or any other multiplayer games?

No, but i can't lie helldiver's does look like a lot of fun

Helldivers 2 do be looking good...

[–] Redderthanmisty@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Kerbal space program. Its the one game I consistently return to when I'm not in the mood for anything else, and recently I haven't had much time or energy for videogames, so a slow burner like ksp where I can just design crafts after getting home from work, and fly them when I'm off during the weekend has been good.

But damn take2 for what they did to the sequel. I understand it was going to be a Half Life 3 situation with unbelievably high expectations that won't please everyone, but holy shit they could not have failed any harder.

Recently I’ve played Cyberpunk, Morrowind, Sekiro, and Victoria 2 and 3. Haven’t finished any of the first 3 though, I’m very lazy when it comes to actually fully finishing games.

My favorite genres are shooters, strategy, and rpgs.

Latest live service game that I’ve been playing is Guilty Gear Strive. One of my friends recommended it to me and it’s been the main thing I’ve been playing for the past month.

What video games have you played recently?

Recently I played a little bit of Street Fighter 6 and finally got back to playing Breath of the Wild. It's been a while since I last played it a month or so ago, so I'm still picking up pace, but I think I'm finally ready to continue playing it, I'm still very early but every second I remember playing it have been just an absolute joy, so I hope I continue it. I have also started playing Demon's Souls for the first time (second really, but I didn't go far the first time). Just beat the spider boss, it's cool so far.

What are your favorite video game genres?

Souls games. Though also honorable mention to roguelikes too. I haven't played a bunch of them actually, but The Binding of Isaac (this one I have played A LOT) and Hades are both amazing.

Are there any live-service games, such as Fallout 76, that you’re currently playing? Anything like Helldivers 2 or any other multiplayer games?

Not really, have been a while since I played a live service game. The last one I played would be League of Legends, but not only have I been playing it less and less for the last 3 or so years, I can't even play it anymore since Riot started using Vanguard in League because I use Linux, so fuck them.

I'm feeling the itch to start playing Warframe again tho. I'll probably just do some of the questlines that dropped since I stopped playing. I think I stop right before before The New War came out.

[–] Addfwyn@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Hey another Tenno! That's where I left off last time I played Warframe as well. The grind to get a Necramech pushed me off the game a couple times. The New War was pretty fun though, as I am one of those weird people that plays Warframe for the story/lore.

They made that particular grind a fair bit easier, and apparently in the June update they are going to make it even easier. So if that was what was holding you back, may be worth waiting for the update.

[–] KrasMazov@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 6 months ago

Fellow Tenno comrade!! That wasn't what pushed me away. I don't even remember if I grinded it to be honest lol. The last time I played I think I did some of the story missions, for the last 3 years or so I have only played the story bits too.

Maybe this time I'll stick to it for longer. Thanks for the info.
