Absolutely crazy considering 1/3 of the EU budget goes to the agricultural sector.

Why is it crazy? The importance of agriculture is mainly for food security.

Certainly. Crazy to me is how much it costs and, therefore, how much could be saved by changing it. Imagine how much could be saved if most people followed a vegan diet for example. Alternatively, think about how much potential lab produced meat has.

Huge saving could be done with much less dramatic lifestyle changes, for example if people instead of having couple slices of bacon and sausage for breakfast would just eat half of those and instead have more toast or whatever, that is 50% reduction in meat consumption and people can still have their bacon and sausages for breakfast and i think it would be easier to have 2 people reduce their meat consumption by half than make 1 person become completely vegan

Sure, I merely gave an example. We agree on the point that a reduction in meat consumption would make sense from an economic standpoint. It surprises me that it is not more important to the EU or the governments to stimulate this change.
