So she is ok with abortion as long as it's 3 hours away?

[–] lemmyng@lemmy.ca 46 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Does that make her an abortion NIMBY?

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 26 points 6 months ago

NIMBA, Not In My Back Alley

Women needing an abortion to save their life should not have to travel further than the nearest hospital.

[–] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 41 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Many insurance companies won’t cover out of state abortions, regardless of necessity.

[–] AlwaysNowNeverNotMe@kbin.social 21 points 6 months ago

How convenient for them.

Hang the insurance industry.

Or have to deal with Kari Lake

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

To be fair, NOBODY should have to deal with Kari Lake. Arguably not even Kari Lake.

[–] Neato@ttrpg.network 72 points 6 months ago (1 children)

If traveling is an option for these people why ban it at all? Oh right, because only privileged people should have the ability to get healthcare. The poors are slaves and get what their masters give them, right Lake?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Well, the idea of sex without lifelong consequences should be reserved for the betters.

[–] soba@lemmy.ca 25 points 6 months ago

She's trying to do damage control and this is the best she can come up with? Don't fall for her bullshit because the psychos in Arizona want to do the same types of things that Texas has done: put a bounty on anyone who helps someone get an abortion and criminalize driving on interstate highways if abortion is involved. They should have left banning abortion as the ultimate carrot on the stick for their sick constituents, because reality is going to kick their asses this November.

I guess it's time to start an abortion bus service

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 2 points 6 months ago

And after driving through the desert for several hours on this bus to receive an abortion, you get one point.

[–] uberdroog@lemmy.world 18 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Where you gonna get to in 3 hours from PHX? More Arizona. Maybe there is an aviation taxi service she's not telling us about?

[–] SkybreakerEngineer@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago (1 children)

For Kari Lake there is, who cares about the poors

[–] uberdroog@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

Exactly, they think through sheer will we can overcome the things they were handed.

Hey hey hey, you can get to the popup abortion clinic in Blythe from downtown in 2h18 👍🏽

[–] uberdroog@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

But then you gotta visit Blythe ugg

[–] LEDZeppelin@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago

Let’s make Kari travel 3 hours south or Arizona permanently

[–] skozzii@lemmy.ca 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

It's hard to figure out their position on abortion when it keeps changing.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

It’s “we want to fuck over women, but we can’t say that.”

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

I wish she'd go choke on some barbed wire.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

The voting public need to remember just what the con party is up to and vote against them all up and down the ticket.
