Still best not to buy anything from Synology. To my knowledge, Synology never demoted or fired the individuals responsible for this, that means they are still working at the company and looking to scam consumers.

They would never have fired the exec that shat that idea out. They'd fire some poor r&d sap that hasn't been putting in as much time as the others as a scapegoat.
