Ah, that's a nice surprise. Because he mostly resembles one big, oxygen deprived sperm cell but I'm too Victorian to admit it.
Oh that's supposed to be an arm of sorts he's stretching out. Usually he is just a blob
Given that some anime have depicted sentient sperm cells, it is not a stretch to think that is a sperm cell awaiting new life, reminiscing about his old life.
Hypothetically... if you happen to have a list of those on hand, or be able to compose even a partial list... it might be good to leave it here... for, erm... completeness sake... or verification... or something.
Not as a MC, but I have seen it a few times. Off the top of my head, "cells at work code black". which is also a hell of an anime to watch without context after "watching cells at work"
