But that's not even true? Most businesses in the United States will just give you a free drink of tap water if asked.

if you're not seeing it, you are in one of the amusement parks.
most food places maybe. i wouldn't expect a hardware store to give me a cup of water, but any chain department store type place has a water fountain somewhere
so do hardware stores lmao America sucks but there's literally water fountains in 90% of stores
