The ads you're viewing in popular apps have been co-opted by companies harvesting your location data — and now hackers have it.

I had set up ad suppression on my home network. The very next day my wife and kids hold an intervention. When I play my games I can't watch the ads and get the credits, and the top links on Google don't work anymore.

It was a losing battle. Now only the smart devices and I are on the blocking system.

That totally sucks, I'm sorry. I will freely admit to being annoyed when I try to click a top link on Google and being black-holed. Still worth it to not deal with the ads.
