What would a pledge even do? Is it like buffing up a terrorism charge or making the murder aggravated or something? "They were so chill, they even signed a pledge! Now they're a monster!!"

When I worked at the adrenochrome factory I would just insta sign training documents+continued education documents that came to me. It was actually a problem because they gave me some document and I called myself competent. I became part of a list for people who could help with something even though I didn't know the first thing about it. My manager called me over to roll their eyes at me. I never suffered consequences but I guess that's my point. Why wouldn't you sign bullshit? I wouldn't even read it before signing and getting back to the break room before my poop break.

Edit: they had us do self-assessment before some kind of annual check in with my supervisor. We were both checked out (they soon after got demoted from supervisor). I had given myself perfect ratings across the board for silly, bullshit reasons. Like I was a team player "because I say good morning to people", 5 stars - exceeds expectations.
