Correct me if I'm wrong
All of these states also overwhelmingly voted for Trump whose administration has power to ban both of these things on federal level.
These people want progressive policies but will follow that 'R' straight to hell.
Gonna be hilarious when suddenly state's rights gets hit with the "no...not like that" 180 back into let the federal government decide.
Silver lining could be, they'll just do a lot of infighting and bickering and do not get stuff done properly. There's a very slim chance that the U.S. Democracy can withstand that again.
Hopefully. That’s the real fear, the real danger: this time fascists have thought ahead rather than be surprised at winning. What if they’re competent?
The thing is...what if they are going down the Putin route and start throwing nuclear threats around? Anyone remember Trump trying to nuke a hurricane? Fascism and having a very rough 4 years is one thing...but as a European, that actually scares me a lot more. Because if they decide, well, Europe is unfriendly...we'll just nuke them...whose going to stop them this time around?
The explanation is that those people are selfish. Plain and simple. They want to be able to have abortions and smoke pot themselves, but they don't want any "others" to receive anything. Republicanism can be explained so easily as "Fuck you, I've got mine!".
To be completely fair, they've also been told their party is 100% on board with "state's rights" the entire time. It's dissonant as ever, but I can easily see people getting very confused by all this.
Now I'm wondering if steamrolling over republican governors is a part of the plan?
