I’ll start. I was on a flight today playing Hades (managed to beat Elysium for the first time too), and saw a guy a few seats over to my left take out his Deck as well and start playing.

It was pretty awesome seeing another Deck in the wild.

Funny enough, I was introduced to the concept of “Steam Deck” in an airport as well. I saw a guy going through security in front of me pull out this weird, big ass Switch.

Didn’t look right though, so I asked him

bro that’s.. not a Switch is it?

no it’s a Steam Deck

a Steam Deck? What games does it play?

your entire Steam library, basically

like, if I own a game, I can play it?!

yeah basically

… bruh

And the rest, as they say, is history.

It got me through 3 hours on a plane. Made it go fast. I set the FPS to 30 max to save battery and didn’t have any stuttering.

I’m not good at this game and it pisses me off but if you ever got into vampire survivors and want more complexity, this game is for you.

Original Title: I set up a Wake On Wan rule to boot up my PC from my android when not at home (4G/5G or any Wi-Fi), then I stream any game I want using Moonlight. Max graphics, max FPS, 4-6 hours battery life. This console offers endless possibilities.

What games would you recommend to play when you are in a situation where you are surrounded by people and immersion is difficult? For example: on the couch next to my wife while she is doom scrolling her phone :P

I already played a lot Vampire Survivors, Brotato and Balatro. Other tips are more then welcome :)

I'm thinking of buying a steam deck, however I'm a bit afraid that it might be one of those things that I buy and will collect dust. I have a Nintendo switch OLED which I used it very rarely and I'm not sure if steam deck might end up the same. (So the plan is to sell the Nintendo for the steam deck)

Do you regret your purchase? Do you even use it? How did you decide if steam deck is the right thing for you?

I've had my deck since christmas of last year and it's great. It's practically replaced my PC, I use it pretty much every day and it feels great for gaming... except for the fact the thing refuses to hold a steady wi-fi connection. Nothing else in my house disconnects but I can't go a day without the deck losing connection and showing the 'authorization supplicant disconnected' error. I've generally strayed away from touching network settings out of fear of making it worse but making the ipv4 required is the closest thing I have to a solution as it'll usually reconnect after I apply (until it'll randomly drop out later in the day at which point the cycle repeats). Any long-term fixes for this would be great as it's genuinely the only thing making my experience miserable.
