I'm a proud Steam Deck owner. I also bought recently a Rog Ally (2023) and i have to say i still like the Steam Deck more. I also frequently search for videos of recent / heavy games to see how they run on Steam Deck before I buy them. I say all this to make clear that it's reasonable that there's a lot of Steam Deck / handheld content on my youtube feed and i'm not against it at all.

However, i've really noticed that most content about the Steam Deck, specially that which comes from Deck focued channels, is often clickbaity at best, and looks like a cult at worst. Every other day i get videos from channels that i wont mention because i don't want to shame any youtubers that are trying to grow their channel, with titles like "STEAM DECK does it AGAIN!!", "Steam Deck does what nintendon't", "Nintendo does not want you to watch this video!!", "Steam Deck just won..." and now, i find it just plain weird that people consume this content. I also don't watch content about other consoles (but i dont get this content for rog ally or legion go or other handhelds) so I don't know if it's common but it's certainly not reasonable.

Do you also get these kind of videos on your youtube feed frequently? What other channels do you recommend that can upload quality steam deck videos (instead of you reading you the news)?

The console market is kinda stagnant right now. With Microsoft neglecting their current Xbox consoles, and Nintendo being a walled garden as always, Sony is leading the market right now, which allowed them to make questionable business decisions, such as releasing an overpriced updated version of their current console, and completely screwing over many of their customers on PC with the PSN requirement. With all that being said, I think that this is the perfect time for Valve to reintroduce the Steam Machine. Steam OS has proven to be reliable platform for gaming thanks to the proton translation layer, and with the success of the Steam Deck, I think that a reasonably priced Steam Machine, say $400-$500, with adequate specs, can give the PS5 and the Xbox Series S/X consoles a run for their money, ~~just like the Steam Deck did for the Nintendo Switch~~. I'm no business expert, so I'm only talking from the perspective of a consumer. What do you guys think?

As the title says, what is something you'd love to see as a feature or even a complete overhaul for the steam deck that would fit how you use/want to use your Steam Deck?

For me, it's to make it waterproof so I can relax in a bath, wedge a chair against the bathroom door so my kids can't get in, and play until I'm shrivelled away to nothing. How would it properly vent heat while I do so in a hot and humid room? That's for the engineers to figure out.

The last game I purchased was in October of 2021, so I've missed out on alot. I generally tend to go towards rogue-lites, Strategy, Action, and frustratingly hard games like Meat Boy, Dark Souls and Celeste, but I'm open to any suggestions!

I was thinking about whether or not I could give up my PC and just have the steam deck, but I don't think I could since two of my favorite games (Valorant and OSRS) are much better experience on desktop. How do you guys feel about it? For the right person I think it could be viable.
