Alright, I’ll say it: I’m officially done with streaming services. I tried to play by the rules for years, subscribed to Netflix, Disney+, Prime, you name it. But after realizing I was shelling out over $60 a month just to spend more time scrolling through content than actually watching it, I had to ask myself why?

Remember when streaming was the easy, affordable way to access everything you wanted? Now, each service has a piece of the shows and movies you want, constantly rotating stuff in and out, locking certain regions from access, and charging more every year. And don’t even get me started on ads. I mean, seriously, I’m paying for ads now?

Here’s my last straw: The show I’ve been dying to see (which was on their platform just last year) is now only available on some other service that I don’t even have. Cue another $15 subscription or, ya know, just download it for free in 15 minutes.

So, yeah, I finally went back to pirating. And honestly? It’s faster, more reliable, and I can find exactly what I want, when I want it, without being tied into some subscription loop. Plus, with all the streaming services killing password sharing and tracking everything we do, there’s actually something kind of freeing about controlling my own media library again.

I’m curious if anyone else is in the same boat or made the same switch? Is there a way streaming can even make itself worth it anymore? Or are we all just going back to the golden age of torrents?

Each time I try to rent a movie for a family cinéma night, it fails. Yesterday, family wanted to watch an old classic (The little gants). Each time I try, there's always something. Most of the time the movie is not on Netflix/D+/PrimeVideo/LocalCableVOD, and then it's also not available for rental on YouTube and Prime, Apple Tv. But this time, it was on Prime. Then most of the time the movie is not in French, our native language here. This time it's in French on prime!!!

5$CAD for 30 days. YES!!! But.... 48hr once you rent it. What? We watch movies on 2 or 3 evenings, so that we can send the kids to be at the right time, without tok much screen time. Impossible to do it in 2 days. Nope. Wont risk it. So pirate hat is once again my only option...

Wtf is wrong with them? 48hr? Renting old dvd movies back in the days was for 7 days. Why do they give us 48hr??

Give me a week and I will rent them each time. I wanna pay for it.

Dang... They are really self pirwting themselves.

I have been pirating ever since I was a kid who didn't even know pirating was illegal. From music when we used walkmans, to movies (both shitty websites and downloading them) to games, to this day I haven't owned a single game other than those freebies.

As a kid, asking your parents for money to buy you stuff online wasn't easy. So guess what? Pirating was the only way for everything. However, now that I'm not longer a kid, I could afford the OTT platforms like Netflix, Disney+ etc and gave Netflix a go only to be disappointed. I can assure you, I spent more time searching for what to watch than the amount of time I spent in watching it. Plus it just seems like a waste of time coz your mind keeps forcing you to watch something just because I paid for the subscription. And watching stuff is funny part, half the time some network issue happens and quality keeps jumping back and forth all the time.

Made me realise no amount of money is gonna make me pay for OTT platforms as they're just time consuming. Better is to download whatever movie or show you want from the net, watch it, delete it and forget about it. Unlike Netflix which won't even have what you want 90% of the time.

used cococonvert, y2mate, savefrom, but everythingg is getting flaggged, even when I search for new ones on google. Any good alternatives that won't infect my computer?
