Genuine question. I’ve always been interested in it but I’ve never had a strong reason to. The only really cool thing my one friend showed me is he could get free in app purchases. Is that still a thing nowadays? What cool things can you do with jailbreaks now? I have an Iphone 14 pro, iphone 7, and iphone SE.

Hello there,

it's been a while...

Today I am here to bring you something small.

JumpSkipReborn is a remake of the Tweak JumpSkip by Karimo299.

For those who don't know the original (as it's quite old at this point...):

JumpSkipReborn allows you to control your music playback using the volume buttons of your device.

The controls are as follows:

• Volume Up + Volume Down = Play / Pause
• Volume Down -> Volume Up = Next Track
• Volume Up -> Volume Down = Previous Track
• Volume Down -> Volume Up (hold) = Fast Forward
• Volume Up -> Volume Down (hold) = Rewind

The tweak as well the source code can be found here.

What does JumpSkipReborn provide over the original?

JumpSkipReborn first and foremost has rootless support.

Furthermore, the source is publicly viewable (for learning purposes) and it should be more feature complete, as the original used private APIs, which haven't been present in iOS since iOS 13.

...also the original doesn't have a official source to download it from anymore, at least to my knowledge.

Hello, so before discovering SideStore i was annoyed by the fact that since i'm a linux user, I couldn't find an AltServer fork of some kind that worked reliably over Wi-Fi.

So i wanted to deploy AltServer on my Raspberry Pi 4, and make it work over Wi-Fi.

So here's AltServer Pi, it allows you to refresh your apps when you're inside the same network as your Pi. It's a docker-compose config that runs all the stuff you need to auth with AltServer and refresh your apps over Wi-Fi

My goal was also to create a VPN that allowed me to connect from outside to my LAN in order to refresh apps, but then again, I discovered SideStore which to me seems like a superior option to AltStore right now since it "doesn't need" a pc/server alongside the iPhone to refresh apps, because the server code runs on the iPhone.

I decided to release it anyways since it took me some time to piece all together and maybe to someone can be useful

Everyone is talking about iOS 18. AI, and how good the customizations are. Let’s be realistic. Apple has taken little bits and pieces of tweaks throughout the years that have added features. Apple STILL has not made a way to turn off Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth in the control center unless you have a jailbreak.

Double tapping the home screen to turn it off make it so much easier. How about AutoUnlock X where all you have to do is tap your iPhone and it automatically takes you to the Lock Screen. There’s even a tweak that allows one to keep the screen on for more than 30 seconds in low power mode.

Setting your flashlight to turn off after a certain time. How many times have you fallen asleep with the flashlight still turned on. Well, with stock iOS you will wake up with a phone with the flashlight still on or even dead.

My point is that yes, the big tweaks make a big difference and makes the JB experience great. But those little tweaks are what makes the real difference.

I mean Android has a close all open apps in one shot. Stock iOS doesn’t have that. But with the tweak KillBackground 13 allows you to close all open apps in one shot.

I just hope someone gets what I mean about how a jailbroken iPhone is just SO MUCH better than stock iOS. Even if iOS 18 is going to have all these AI features or whatever else they have planned. It still doesn’t get anywhere close to a jailbroken iPhone. That’s all I have to say.
