I have been keeping my eye out for the sale and when it hit the lack of coupon was disappointing but somewhat expected but I noticed many games I had wish listed did not receive a discount. So I held out to see if they were on steams sale. Space Marine 2 is full price on epic while 25% off on steam, Redacted same, Cryptmaster 20%, Still Wakes the Deep 35%, Titanfall 2 full price on Epic, 90% off on steam. I’ve got ten more like that.

Now I’m in a unique position with my phone plan (three) and epic where I’m a PAYG which means I pay €40 a month for two phone plans but keep the credit and every sale I have a sizable chunk to spend (and can only spend it on epic or apple App Store) so I’m not complaining as effectively it’s free games for me but if I wasn’t in this position I can’t see why I’d buy on epic over steam.

Epic is at a disadvantage in every aspect outside of giveaways and if it’s to be long term viable it needs to find something to give it an edge, it used to be coupons and giveaways but with coupons a thing of the past and giveaways repeating if I was using real money I’d choose steam, greenman gaming, fanatical, etc.

Original Title: Many sequels were recently announced for 2025, and what better way to advertise a sequel than to give away the last game? Here are some games I think we may see given away to generate hype for their upcoming sequels:

  1. The Outer Worlds ---> The Outer Worlds 2
  2. Doom (2016) ---> Doom The Dark Ages
  3. Borderlands 3/ The Handsome Collection ---> Borderlands 4
  4. Any Assassin's Creed ---> AC Shadows
  5. Death Stranding ---> Death Stranding 2
  6. GTA V ---> GTA 6
  7. Any Mafia game ---> Mafia The Old Country

I stuck to games already available on the EGS, and many of these have been given away before, so it's not unlikely to happen again. What games did I miss?

I am currently playing Death Stranding on epic that we got last year, i think, for free in the december gifts thing, and I'm loving it. Ive completed nearly half the game and the level of detail in this game is absolutely outstanding. But unfortunately I need to make space on my PC for work and it seems like I'm gonna have to uninstall the game for a while. Since I've made quite some progress on the game, I can't afford to lose it all. I am very used to steam's cloud save but I have no idea if epic has it as well. If I uninstall the game to install it again later, will my progress be saved? Will I be able to pick up where I left off?

At The Game Awards Epic announced showed off the first teaser for the next game from genDesign, this is being made by the previous Team Ico creators of Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian. It's currently known as "Project: Robot"

Similarly, Epic also announced over Twitter they will be publishing the first game from Section 9 Interactive, they are a new studio comprised of developers that worked on the Little Nightmare series, which is apparently deep in development, there's currently no known title or release date for the project, footage and art can be viewed on their website (personally excited for this one, it looks so great)

It was also confirmed a while back that Epic would publish the PC port of Lords of the Fallen 2, the sequel to the recent 2023 release. They would have complete control of the PC version for the entirety of the products lifecycle.

When discussing account hacking, there are two main methods used by bad actors: social engineering and cracking.

Method-Based Attacks (Social Engineering) The first method involves pulling data through scraping APIs or purchasing statted lines from suppliers. These statted lines contain sensitive details, such as the time of the last match, current locker items, connected accounts and display names with connection dates, IP addresses used for login, and the account's associated email. Bad actors use this information in combination with social engineering tactics to manipulate Epic Games support into changing the account's email. Fortunately, Epic is cracking down on this, and it's being reported across Telegram channels that Epic Games is pursuing legal action against fraudsters for breaching terms of service, committing fraud, and accessing private data unlawfully.

Cracking Attacks The second, more common method is cracking. This involves using “combos” — combinations of usernames/emails and passwords sourced from breached databases. Some suppliers also use combo editors to generate password variations that mimic typical human patterns. Cracking itself is a complex process.

Once a bad actor has a combo, they run it through programs like OpenBullet or CNChecker, which attempt to log in to services like Epic Games, PlayStation, and Xbox. If a login is successful, they use custom checkers or Telegram bots to assess the account's value, including checking the skins available. Even two-factor authentication (2FA) is not a deterrent, as many hackers use private 2FA bypass methods. For instance, a PSN 2FA bypass method was available publicly for two years before being patched.

Once the cracker has attempted all combinations, they generate a log called "hits," which represent successful logins.

Example of a hit log:

These are typically non-full access (NFA) accounts, meaning the bad actor does not have access to the associated email but can log in through Epic Games or connected accounts. NFA accounts can have verified or unverified emails. Unverified emails are often easy to turn into full access accounts via the methods mentioned earlier. Even without full access the hacker can obtain information like IP addresses, transaction dates, last four digits of credit cards, account link dates, billing addresses, etc., which can be used to pull accounts.

Some hackers also target "headless" accounts — those created between Season 0 and Season 2 or 3, where the email associated with the account was never properly verified. The hacker simply creates the missing email address and gains full access to the account.

Email Cracking Another method involves cracking email accounts directly. Hackers use combos on email service providers and scan the successful login hits for email addresses tied to PSN, Xbox, and Epic Games accounts. They then initiate password resets for those accounts and check for valuable content like skins. If something valuable is found, the hacker changes the account’s email, blocks emails from Epic Games on the original email account (OGE), makes copies of receipts, deletes all emails from Epic Games, and then bombards the OGE with spam.

These fraudsters also use various techniques to prevent you from regaining access. Some common tactics include email bombing the original email account and keeping an active support ticket with Epic Games regarding the compromised account.

To protect yourself, use unique passwords for every account!

Original Title: EGS should include an "Add to Cart" option when hovering over games and add-ons icons. I feel like it could come in handy when you are time constrained and quickly need to check-out your EGS cart. At the moment they only have "Add to Wishlist".

Day 7 is over! A lot of fantastic guesses and good to see what everyone is playing currently. I seen a lot of different games getting guessed but the answer this time was Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition! Congratulations to u/slavmaf for their win, I will contact over Reddit Chat

Raffle results -

This is the end of the daily giveaway, I want to express thanks to everyone that joined in and took the time to share their answers to the silly questions I had. I'm sorry that I couldn't give everyone the games that I was giving away, it did get a bit dicey on the last couple of days with RedditRaffler going down and needing to improvise a solution, but I appreciate everyone for understanding when it took a while to get the gifts to people and I hope that the people that won are able to make good use of them.

Thank you all for playing and I hope that you all have a fantastic Christmas time and enjoy the holidays that you celebrate over this time. All the best and into the new year too!

Hello everyone,

With it being so close to the holidays Epic's daily giveaways inspired me so I had the genius plan to host some giveaways for the community before their daily giveaways kick in. As much as I would love to give everyone the games I'm giving away, I don't think my bank account could stand the damage, but I do hope for the people that do get them that they enjoy them. My plan is to have a 1 giveaway each day until next week, so that would mean 7 days of giveaways!

I will close the giveaway at 9pm GMT tomorrow, 1 winner will be selected and at that time the next giveaway will start with a new post.

I will be giving the games away through the form of a gift link from Humble Bundle. These games will only redeem through Epic Games Store, which means you will need to link your Epic account to your Humble Account as they use keyless redemption.

I will be using redditraffler to ensure that every one has a fair chance in winning. Once the winner has been chosen, I will give you the gift link and you will be asked to enter your email address and it should send you an email letting you redeem the game to your Epic account.

Game #1

Sifu - I can fight like Jackie Chan, but when I lose it seems to take years off of me

As many of you guessed very quickly! Congrats to Snowseer for their win, I have messaged them with the gift link. Game 1 Raffle results

Game #2

Horizon Chase 2 - My little brother is a bit of a joke in the community, there must be something that can be done about him being turbo annoying

No one guessed this one correctly! My logic for this was the running joke that Horizon Chase Turbo 1 will be given away, and the use of "turbo"! Congratulations to Playful_Phase_5540 for their win. I have messaged them with the gift link to redeem. Game 2 Raffle results

Game #3

Red Dead Redemption 2 - I was the last big release for the company, that'll be until their next game comes to take my throne. They're a lot more modern than me but at least I won't be looking at them through dead eyes.

There seemed to be a split of people thinking it was either this or Cyberpunk 2077, good guessing everyone! I also had a fantastic time looking through your jokes and memes as well, thank you for making it a laughter filled Sunday and congratulations to Pixels222 on their win, I have messaged them with the gift link to redeem the game. Game 3 Raffle results

Game #4

Mortal Shell - I was an Epic exclusive for a while, I did eventually come out of my shell and release on other platforms but I guess that's part of being mortal.

Congratulations to metalreflectslime for their win! I enjoyed listening to a bunch of your music suggestions, a lot of songs that I already enjoyed which was even better, but some hidden gems in the comments! Game 4 Raffle results

Game #5

Alan Wake Remastered - I enjoy to write, I'm trying my best but sometimes it just feels like my batteries have ran out. It was good that my writing has been redone this time to brush up on it though.

Congratulations to ayo_dudeski on their win! I have reached out to them through Reddit chat Raffle results

Game #6

PC Building Simulator 2 - Doing this is like playing with big Legos, lots of different colours and can be loud or quiet depending on what I've used. Also, please make sure Linus doesn't drop a piece or 2 of me!

Day 6 is over! I'm trying to complete the raffle but the website I've been using redditraffler looks to be having issues. I will complete the raffle and get the winner picked as soon as I can. Sorry about this!

Since Reddit Raffler is still down I have used a different website, congratulations to Ok-Race287 you've won PC Building Simulator 2! I have reached out over Reddit chat Raffle results

Game #7

Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition - The winter months are some of the darkest, if only I had a champion of light to help me see the way ;)

My hints for this one were the suggestions of the song "Champion of Light", fantastic section.

I appreciate everyone sharing their favourite meals and what they like to drink/eat. It certainly didn't help me when I was hungry because all the food sounded absolutely amazing! I will keep the questions short and sweet this time

  • What game are you currently playing!
