I want to stop using google services as much as possible, which is why I want to switch to a different email service. I don't know which one I should switch too though. It would be great if someone could recommend a good alternative.

Starlink and Tesla will be able to mine a huge amount of data from its users. Not only that, but I also heard that Google Cloud is also partnering with Starlink. Also, Tesla cars are full of cameras and sensors which are probably active 24x7. Not only that, Tesla cars continuously upload and download data. These companies are definitely great in innovation and I really like it but they get access to a lot of data.

Other than the fact that I hate being watched because it makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't see any other reason to be scared of mass surveillance. until I realize there was a more considerable reason.

The point of mass surveillance, is mass control.

On top of their surveillance technologies, they created a centralized system to feed on people. Before that they were using television, and then now, social media.

The reason is heavily tied to politics. The reason this exists is simple, they do it for money, status, and power. not that they care how you behave or think.

On another note, these "services" that you're using. made by Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk. what do they have in common? Destroy the environment, Exploit workers and take away people's freedom and give only a little donation for the environment in comparison to the damages they made. No justifiable reason can be made here. Not only you're being spied on, you're contributing to evil things by giving them your money and time.

We can't fight for something good without getting affected by these systems. and if not all, most of us is inside that system at this very moment.

For your own well-being and the importance of humanity and the environment. get out as fast as possible.

Hello there!

Many of you consider LBRY and Odysee as a good alternative to YouTube, because it does not track you, and does not do evil things.

Let me clear up your heads.

LBRY and Odysee still tracks you. It does still use an algorithm, that recommends you content. To be honest, it isn't really different from YouTube. You need a phone number to verify, or other personal information. They use third-party components, to provide their services like Google AdSense. If it grows more, then we will get to the same point, what we have now with YouTube. (If they don't make a change.)

From LBRY Inc. Privacy Policy:

How do we use your information?

  • We may use the information we collect from you when you register, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content and product offerings in which you are most interested. To improve our website in order to better serve you.

Hello everyone. I've decided to write this post about Techlore and The Hated One because I'm confused. So there was the big GrapheneOS drama there with Techlore and stuff... Under the video many people commented that Techlore is just influencing fans and etc. The Hated One recently made a video of Signal. He said, that Signal server did not get a source code update since 2020. He was wrong. It did, this year February. I'm getting really confused about if they lie to all of us on privacy, and if this is a real concern. I want to hear your opinion on this!

Competition of commission of India files case on WhatsApp citing changes made to it's Privacy Policy. WhatsApp files case against Union govt. of India citing 'Traceability' provision in IT Rules.

WhatsApp's Privacy Policy changes are for business and profit. Union govt. of India's rules are for more control over the right to expression and to suppress dissent and criticism. We, users and citizens, are struck between them.

I'm a total noob about VPNs, but I'd like to beat my service provider's data throttling. I need to do a lot of downloading and uploading of large files, and am running into my deadline, but I don't have any disposable income to put into a paid VPN. Do Y'all have suggestions?

For people telling me to pay for one; if I had the money I would have just done that and wouldn't have needed to ask. But as it stands, I can barely make enough money to feed myself, it's pretty hard to justify the cost of a decent VPN (even if it seems cheap to you). I don't really care about privacy or companies selling my data, I just want to upload what needs to be uploaded in a timely manner, as it's already taken three days of shit internet, and it's still 22% done.

IG relies on extensive data collection, maximising time on devices, promoting a culture of over-sharing... certainly not appropriate for 7-yr olds.

I hear that both CloudFlare is privacy respectful and that it spies on site visitors (with their CDN). What's your thoughts on this matter?

We have a family Samsung smart TV that is configured to use my Pihole instance as its DNS. When it was first set up, it looked up a blocked Samsung domain every few seconds whenever it was on (this is with ACR tracking "disabled" in the settings). Now it doesn't anymore, but I still get activity from its IP address looking domains for NTP and looking up Samsung domains not blocked by my blocklists, but much less often now. Weirdly, it isn't looking up domains for YouTube anymore despite us watching videos on the included app. Could it have found a way to bypass my DNS server (maybe a hard coded Samsung DNS?)

(The TV is my parents' and they want to keep using the smart features. If it were up to me, it'd be barred from our Wi-Fi by now.)
